Haitian educator Minel Lofficial

Minel Lofficial, an alumni of Louverture Cleary and recently the principal of the private Catholic boarding school, now works for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Haiti.

Louverture Cleary Secondary School

The boarding school, free for students, is funded by private donors and Catholic missions in the U.S. In return for their tuition and board, students must participate in daily service to the school's surrounding neighborhood. Eighty percent of students go on to study at university in Haiti. Of those, many receive scholarships to cover the $3000 to $5000 in tuition and books for study at private universities in Haiti.
